Fight for your Right.

I’m not a resident DJ at any bar, nor have I ever been. But last night I got a glimpse into what all the hype is about. Dave and Raheel’s Annual Christmas Party went down at the Champion Fight Club Event Centre. The CFC Event Centre is the converted Area 51/Viper/Great Canadian Super Bar etc. off of Idywyld and 24th. A real slick 2-level venue with great sound and lights. I highly recommend this place for any type of party. Capacity is around 180. Thanks Dave for havin’ me play, and thanks Raheel for the double cheeseburgers.

Sarah & Lindsays 8th Annual What?

Christmas cheer for everyone. And that’s the goal for two special cats, Sarah & Lindsay, who every year host a spectacular holiday party for 300 of their closest friends. Everyone has to donate a non-perishable food item that is then donated to the Saskatoon Food Bank. All proceeds from tickets went to the Saskatoon Children’s Festival. We had the place smokin’ till the early morning at the Odeon Event Centre. Unfortunately for me, today I had to wake up and run 4.7 million errands for my family, and then drive back 3 hrs. Ahhhh. Couch.

Artist Project One: C5 Snowboards

Just wrapped up a weekend in Regina with my jibronies from Class 5. They held their official launch in style. The event was called Artist Project One. 5 blank snowboards were given to 5 up-and-coming artists and were asked to do one thing: Blow our minds. What they got in return were 5 works of art which C5 put on display at the Friday night gala. A silent auction was held and a board designed by Calgary’s John Antoski took home top dollar for the night. My work, zu, bid and won an original board by Regina tattoo artist Giuseppe Diantonio. I was stuck behind the tables most of the night, but thankfully had all the Sprite I could drink. Big thanks to James and Justin for planning an unforgettable evening. Check out Class Five for more information.

NEW YEARS

newsyears2008headersmaller.jpg

It’s official. We’re doing another New Years Party. Masquerade-style. If any of you remember last year (Sutherland Hall) you’ll remember it to be busy, loud, and sexy. And this year is going to be busier, louder and sexier. I hope. Details are at the official site. So book your tickets early, because you don’t want to be that guy trying to pay the security $100 to get in. It happened last time.

Joel’s Houseparty – Cowboys and Schoolgirls.

joelsparty.jpg

First of all, I haven’t DJed a house-party in a while. My buddy Joel got engaged recently and they bought a house. So for their house warming party, I decided to help with the music. The official theme was Cowboys and Schoolgirls. It started with some casual Guitar Hero 3 (which, btw will consume your life), then about 10pm, I went on the CDJs and never looked back. With JBL EONs red-lining the whole night, I was surprised it never got shut down. After 4 hours of skirt shakin’ beats, I realized that I failed to do 3 things all night: drink, sit, or pee. So I decided to call it a night and hit the hot tub, where I drank, sat, and peed. Overall, I think it was a pretty sick houseparty. Thanks Joel and D.

Class 5 Snowboards – Launch Party

Class 5

I’m stoked to play at the Class 5 Snowboards launch party, Dec 7th in a very posh loft condo in downtown Regina. I’m not really sure what street. There is going to be an art/board showing during the day and a party at night. Anyways, Class 5 Snowboards is an awsome little startup company that’s going to take the snowboard community by storm. Based out of Regina, they are making boards by hands in a shop off of Dewdney. I took a tour of the shop the other day and it’s the real deal. After asking some riders about the boards, they pretty much swear by them. Not only do they look hella good, but I guess they ride extraordinarily well. Anyways, check em out.

A.S.S Club – play till they say

Ah, well it was good while it lasted. The Alpine Ski and Snowboard Club once again rocked another crazy party. Upstairs of McGuires was the scene of the crime last Friday. The 5-0 and fire marshalls shut ‘er down about midnight. Leaving me on stage, infront of a rowdy crowd screaming for more. Hopefully when the smoke clears, the club will only get a slap on the wrist. Nevertheless, it was a great night, and they’re only going to get better.

NEW – Commerce BBQ Video

Big thanks for Paul Neufeld for putting this together. Between drinking and filming, it’s not half bad. This was just a small part of the whole event. Enjoy.

Commerce BBQ – The Aftermath

Crowd

We just wrapped up playing at Commerce BBQ or as you may know it LB5Q. People today have a hard time understanding what LB5Q stands for. When I was in school, it was simply called Little Buddy Big Buddy Bar-B-Q, hence the 5 B’s. But now I think the acronym has taken over permanently.

Anyways, taking over the small tent for the entire night, The Fraternity held down 5 straight hours of continuous dance floor mayhem. Whether it was due to the cold weather or the crazy loud setup courtesy of Barndog (thanks Keving and Chris), we like to think we might of had a hand in contributing to the atmosphere.

Big thanks to the folks at the Commerce Students Society for organizing the biggest university party in Western Canada. Big shout outs to Ricky, Brady and Mike for accommodating our every need and making sure we had enough to drink and eat.
